Accentuating the atmosphere of an old-fashioned Mexican cantina, the 4,000-sq.-ft. floor was completed in five days using 4,000 psi concrete placed in the normal manner, screeded, bull floated, and edged. A dry-shake color hardener was cast over the slab at a rate of 50 lbs. per 100 sq. ft. The color was then floated and finished. Expansion joints were cut to ACI standards after drying of the concrete. Two coats of Earth acid stain were applied, followed by Seal Hard and a coat of 14 percent acrylic sealer. An Iguana template was used in sandblasting the pattern over the floor's surface. Acid stain was applied to the sandblasted iguanas, in addition to a last coat of acrylic sealer after drying of the pavement.
